The Job

The Amazon eCommerce Writer will join the central Commerce Content team and will create Amazon-related commerce content for several Meredith brands. He/she will have the opportunity to write content covering all product categories including fashion, beauty, home, food, tech and entertainment. This role requires someone who is passionate about writing, products, and shopping on Amazon, and can produce multiple articles per day, creating content that inspires Meredith’s large audiences to make informed, qualified purchases.

Essential Job Functions

  • Pitch and write numerous shopping articles per day which generate strong affiliate revenue
  • Identify and carry out Amazon commerce content opportunities within various product categories. An interest in style and lifestyle/home categories is a must.
  • Use data and analytics to brainstorm and guide content decisions
  • Create SEO guides and collaborate with the SEO Ecommerce Manager
  • Collaborate closely with writers and editors on the eCommerce team and across Meredith
  • Keep up with all things related to Amazon including new product launches and sales
  • Build own content within CMS
  • Pull monthly affiliate earnings
  • Attend weekly editorial meetings


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related field


  • 2+ years experience as a writer for an online publisher

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate experience and interest in creating commerce content for users along all stages of their purchasing journey (from browsing to researching and making a purchase)
  • Interested in online shopping and very familiar with Amazon’s website and product offerings
  • A strong writer who enjoys coming up with creative opportunities to generate sales
  • Able to write compelling headlines that drive high engagement/page views
  • Willing to use data to guide content decisions and methodical in testing ideas over and over again in order to achieve desired results
  • Familiar with SEO best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work within technical systems – content management systems (CMS)
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and matrixed organization
  • Highly adaptable and quick to learn processes
  • Familiar with the Meredith portfolio
